I am a Certified Professional Midwife, registered to practice in this state.  Midwifery has been the focus of my professional life for 17 years, and I have attended over 300 births in Colorado.  I currently live and have my office east of Boulder and so serve women and families throughout Boulder County, as well as the northern Denver metro area and Brighton.

For nearly 25 years I have served birthing families. My experience has encompassed childbirth education, doula services, and midwifery. I am a Colorado Registered Midwife and a Certified Professional Midwife. I have been serving the homebirth community since 1979 in the Denver metro area. This includes Denver and suburbs, as far east as Bennett, south to Castle Rock, and west to Evergreen and Conifer. My services include complete prenatal care, birth care, and post-partum care for mom and baby up to six weeks after the birth. I was a hospital doula for five years before becoming a homebirth midwife, and let me tell you, I can see the difference! There's no substitute for the comfort and familiarity of home for birth.  I provide complete midwifery care for pregnancy, birth and six weeks postpartum. I also offer lactation support, occasional monitrice services and can prepare placenta medicine if desired. 

Jeni Schraishuhn is a Registered Midwife who has been practicing for 30 years and has attended over 1,000 births. She has a BS, Med Lab Tech, Master Herbalist, Applied Kinesiology, Iridology, Aromatherapy, Backman Emotional Technique and Natural Health Practitioner degrees. I have provided homebirth midwifery care in Northern Colorado and the surrounding area since 1983, have assisted over 900 hospital births as a labor and delivery room nurse, worked as a lactation nurse, a LLL Leader, a certified childbirth educator, monitrice and doula. I have provided primary midwifery care for over 500 homebirths in Colorado, and became a Registered Midwife after the Midwifery law was signed in 1993. I believe that many women can have a natural childbirth experience if given the chance, and it is my passion to provide traditional midwifery care to women wanting this service in their homes.
